The latest Google Maps update causes it to lose important functionality

This is the new problem that you might face if you recently updated Android Auto, and it is likely that you have lost a very interesting feature that you have been using these last few years.

When we carry out such an important step as updating to a new version of our operating system, we take it for granted that not only will everything work the same as before, but that new features will even be included that will make our user experience much more satisfactory.

Unfortunately, since the release of the new version of Android Auto based on Android 12, there have been many users who have gone to the Google forums to complain that some functionality was not executed or performed in the same way as before, affecting on all to the Google Maps application.

Following the cascade of problems from the Google forums has been reported a new relative fault Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode does not work when using apps like YouTube, Netflix or the relevant Google Maps.

And it is that the PiP mode allows us to run an application in a smaller window so that we continue to interact in the main window, and this is ideal if we want to open the Google Maps application on one side of the screen while we perform other actions.

The problem is not specific, and there is a large group of affected users, who claim that the PiP mode does not work on Netflix, Facebook, YouTube and obviously not on Google Maps since the update to Android 12 of Android Auto.

Users have tried to try a large set of solutions like uninstall apps, reboot device, clear cache or clear data and nothing has solved the error.

This apparently happens with some phones like the Pixel or Samsung, and it remains to be seen if Google finally releases a next patch to solve the problem.
