Bargteheide Bees welcome front runners – protagonists not included

After the away game at Rist Wedel 2, which was canceled at short notice due to corona cases with the opponent and was supposed to take place last Sunday, the Bargteheide Bees will get down to business on Sunday (3 p.m.; no spectators allowed): In the KGB hall, the Table third the leader Itzehoe 2 for the top game. Bees trainer Said Ghalamkarizadeh, who is absent due to illness, will not be on the sidelines this time. Experienced guard Patrick Thelen will be in charge of the coaching.

Bees don’t have to hide

The game already took place on October 24 last year. The Bees lost to the Eagles 64-69. But the sting was not deep. Rather, the defeat against Itzehoe was one of only two bankruptcies this season. The last six games have all been won. However, the rhythm is missing: The Bees last went hunting for a basket on January 8th, when there was a 66:63 at BG Hamburg-West.

Itzehoe is not in the flow either, the Eagles played their last game three weeks ago. The table leader defeated Kronshagen at the bottom with 106:40. The Eagles have several good shooters in Thorben Haake, Semjon Weilguny and Tobias Möller. However, the Bees offense does not have to hide: 80.7 points per game are on average – the best in the league. However, the top scorer will be absent: Steffen Hönicke is fit again, but is missing this time for personal reasons.
