Halo: The first trailer for the TV series makes you want more, but also irritates you

First Teaser-Videos was a few weeks ago, but now the Halo TV series has gotten its first “real” trailer. The official launch date for the series has also been announced.

When does it start? The Halo series launches March 24th on Paramount+. This service is currently not available in Germany soon start but planned.

The trailer gives a first foretaste of what awaits us in the series and makes a good impression, at least in the scenes shown. Not much is revealed about the story yet, unsurprisingly the Master Chief and other Spartan soldiers get to deal with the Covenant aliens in the course of the episodes, a few of which can already be seen in the trailer.

Additionally, fans in particular should recognize some of the weapons from the games, including the Assault Rifle, the Power Sword, and the Battle Rifle, one of the franchise’s most popular guns.

Halo Series: The new trailer gives you a first look at Cortana

A figure is not directly recognizable

However, I stumbled across one detail while watching the trailer – and apparently several other Halo sympathizers too. And that’s the look of the AI Cortana, also a central character in the Halo universe.

The look is so different from the in-game appearances that you might think you’re dealing with a different character. It would probably have had a similar effect if the Master Chief had been given yellow armor.

A detail that irritated me and that I still have to get used to, similar to the fact that the Master Chief is played by Pablo Schreiber in the series and accordingly does not have the bassy voice of Steve Downes in the English version, who lends them to him in the games. However, Schreiber’s setting also fits perfectly with the green armored super soldier.

In general, you have to say goodbye to the idea that the story and course of the series overlap greatly with those of the games. This is because the TV series has its own timeline, distinct from the franchise’s core canon, which the creators have dubbed the “Silver Timeline.”

What do you think of the first trailer?
