Lost Ark features huge 96-player battles on the new PvP continent

A lot of new content has been announced in Lost Ark for 2022, especially for the Korean version of the MMORPG. In addition to the new class, this also includes the open-world PvP continent Rowen, where you can experience huge carnage.

What is this PvP mode? In 2022 Lost Ark should get a new continent, at least in Korea. Going by the name of Rowen, he allows for a sort of open-world PvP by pitting two factions against each other.

As a player, you decide for one of the two factions and hopefully bring victory to them. In order to achieve that, however, you’ll need to devote a lot of focus to staying on top of things in this carnage.

The normal PvP modes in Lost Ark are played 3 against 3, so the existing guild vs. guild PvP battles are sometimes confusing with a total of 32 players.

But Rowen puts the crown on it, because here you fight in teams of 48 players each on a large map. So a total of 96 PvP fans are fighting for victory.

How does this work? Similar to Guild vs Guild mode, only in a much larger size. You start with your faction on a large map in your fortress. Each of the factions starts out with a stronghold where they can respawn and are safe for the time being.

Then you fight for a total of 8 checkpoints on the map. The longer you hold these points, the more progress you’ll get, which you need to win. Every 3 minutes, your faction gains 5% progress for each point held. At 100%, one of the parties wins.

For every point you get 5% to victory every 3 minutes

So in the 18-minute matches, you try to keep as many points as possible while beating up enemy players so they can’t steal your points. You can use helpful gadgets like cannons and other siege weapons.

At the end of the time, a faction will be chosen as the winner and a player from this faction will become the MVP, i.e. the most valuable player. In a nice end cutscene, he then gives the order to destroy the opposing fortress with the cannons of your fortress.

Unlike in normalized arena PvP, your equipment counts towards your stats here. You can also use mounts and combat items, similar to GvG. So the mode promises to be massive carnage.

How are the fans reacting? The new pictures from the battles ensure a really good atmosphere in the community. Many of the fans can hardly wait for the launch in Europe.

Lost Ark still has a lot up its sleeve for 2022, at least for Korea. This includes the following content, which is due to be released this year:

  • Weaker classes should become stronger
  • User interface improvements
  • New continents and more story content
  • New raids that should also challenge players in the endgame
  • A lot of new islands on the ocean
  • A Battle Royale PvP mode in which players have a choice of classes to choose from
  • Lost Ark should also get a kind of MOBA PvP mode
  • New mini games
  • Adjustments to the housing of the player island and a wedding feature
