After Bungie deal: Sony is “far from finished” with studio takeovers
Sony buys Bungie: The deal isn’t over yet and the takeover isn’t over yet, but there shouldn’t be too much standing in the way of the whole thing. After that, Sony apparently doesn’t just stop buying new studios, on the contrary: According to PlayStation boss Jim Ryan, “absolutely” more can be expected and the company is “far from finished”. He’s not explicitly referring to further acquisitions, but it seems more or less clearly about it.
Bungie will probably not be Sony’s last purchase, suggests PS boss
That’s what it’s about: After it was recently announced that Microsoft wants to take over Activision Blizzard, Bungie is now to be bought by Sony for the equivalent of 3.2 billion euros. While this isn’t 100% complete yet, it looks like both deals will go through.
But no fear, Destiny 2 should remain multiplatform:

PS4/PS5 exclusive? Bungie explains how to proceed
In an in-depth interview with Gamesindustry.biz Sony’s PlayStation boss Jim Ryan talks about the long-planned takeover. It has nothing to do with consolidation, but only with a shared vision and being able to do things better together.
There’s more to come: Jim Ryan explains that PlayStation still has a long way to go and there are still a lot of steps and things to be done in the future. It’s not entirely clear whether it’s about further shopping tours and studio takeovers, but it sounds very much like it:
“We should absolutely expect more. We’re far from done.”
Insiders tease more on: For his part, industry insider and journalist Jeff Grubb also apparently believes that further large deals could be secured in the near future. And sooner rather than later. On the one hand, this is due to inflation and, on the other hand, that studios are becoming more and more valuable and expensive. That’s why it makes sense to spend the money now, before it’s worth less and the studios cost more.
Also, there seem to be some growing and relatively specific rumours. However, it is said that one cannot speak about them. But apparently several parties are already at the ready and the next takeover could be in the not too distant future. But it is not revealed who it is. The only thing that is certain is that Jeff Grubb didn’t want to hint at Take Two, and he didn’t It Takes Two-Maker Hazelight.

More on the subject:
In the meantime, a completely different deal is apparently bearing fruit, slowly but surely: the Discord app is unfortunately still not quite normal on the PS4 and PS5, but something is happening there. You can now link your PSN account to Discord.
