The Craob X is a conceptual laptop that anticipates a future of computers without ports (not one)

We have been hearing about this possible future with devices without ports for years. But nevertheless, ports refuse to go. Despite the rise of wireless charging, all mobiles have charging ports. Although laptops have also started to reduce the number of available ports, they continue to make an appearance.

But what if they stopped doing it? What if the future is indeed completely wireless? That is what he proposes to us. Craob X, a conceptual laptop that “will arrive soon” (we’ll see if it’s finally like that or not) and that, indeed, bets everything on wireless. It doesn’t have a single port, not one, not even for charging.

Look mom, no ports

The Craob X is a concept laptop, that is, it is not available on the market right now. The company itself assures that “it will arrive soon” on its website, but at the moment we do not have more information beyond the images and specifications published by the firm. Therefore, we will have to wait to see if it finally materializes and, if so, in what way.

This ultrabook claims to be very light, with only 861 grams of weight; very fine, with seven millimeters thick, and completely wireless. It also has no frames and the screen (13.3 inches and 4K, by the way) extends to the corners. So much so that the webcam has been integrated into a perforation in the screen, in the purest current Android mobile style.

As can be seen in the images, the ports are conspicuous by their absence. There is no USB, no A or C, no RJ45, no headphone jack and no charger. Nothing at all. How does it load then? wirelessly. According to the company, the device uses a “wireless charger that attaches magnetically to the back of the laptop.”

This charger is not only for charging, but it really is also a dock with ports. The charger has USB C, USB A ports, an SD card reader, and a headphone port. How exactly does this dock work? It is not known. The company has not revealed more details, so we will have to be pending.

Finally, and regarding specifications, the device promises up to an Intel Core i7-1280P, an Intel Iris Xe GPU, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to 2 TB PCIe 4.0 and WiFi 6E connectivity. All this, remember, in a chassis of 821 grams and seven millimeters thick. For the moment, there is no information about its price and availability.
