WoW: Horde and Alliance play together – What do you think?

Elves, orcs, humans and trolls will soon be playing together in World of Warcraft. But do you really want that? Or is that a taboo break?

Exciting times have just dawned for World of Warcraft players. Not only has the spam from boosting offers been drastically reduced, in the future Horde and Alliance characters will be able to embark on joint adventures and form groups. Cross faction play is coming.

This is a feature that many people in the community have been asking for for years – but what about you MeinMMO readers? We want to know how you feel about this feature.

What will be possible? Alliance and Horde players will be able to join groups together and write in group chats. You can then visit dungeons together, complete raids or visit rated PvP battlegrounds.

This is possible if players have either a Battle.net or Real ID friendship, are in a cross-faction community together, or apply via the dungeon browser to a group that includes both factions.

What will not be possible? The basic hostility status in the open world does not change. If two players from different factions are in war mode and in a group, they can still attack each other. Cooperating – for example by granting buffs or healing – is only possible within organized actions such as dungeons.

Incidentally, in random groups, for example with the random dungeon tool, you only end up in a group with players from your own faction. So, by chance, you will never cooperate with the other side.

But now let’s come to you! What do you think of the announcement of this feature? Do you think that’s a good idea? Or does WoW only lead to new problems?

When is the feature coming? Cross faction play is being tested on patch 9.2.5 PTR. It will probably only start when patch 9.2 has been released, which in turn has no release date yet. So it will be at least 3 months before the feature is released, probably more.
