WoW: Twitch streamer explains why it’s so important that Horde and Alliance play together soon

Twitch streamer Asmongold explains why World of Warcraft’s decision to allow Alliance and Horde to play together is so important right now. It’s a huge step, he says.

World of Warcraft has a big change and the well-known streamers are also dealing with the topic. Asmongold explains why he finds the decision so important – and why it is so serious for the future of World of Warcraft. Because in Azeroth, Horde and Alliance can soon play side by side.

Who is this? Most WoW players should know Asmongold by now. He is considered the biggest streamer on Twitch related to World of Warcraft, although his streams are often considered controversial. Again and again he gives his opinion on games like WoW, but also Final Fantasy or other MMORPGs.

Why is? In one of his latest videos, Asmongold talks about the biggest change that’s floating around in Azeroth right now: With Patch 9.2.5, it will be possible for Alliance and Horde players to team up to embark on adventures together. You will then be able to visit dungeons, raids and battlegrounds together. The feature is optional and is primarily intended to create more possibilities. We have explained all the details to you here.

“The best thing Blizzard can do for the Alliance”

What did Asmongold say? Asmongold is extremely positive about this announcement, even though he thinks it should have come a few years ago.

This is a damn big deal. I’m really excited about this. I am very happy. […] I think this is the best thing Blizzard could do for the alliance.

The reason for this is that on most realm pools, the Alliance is the significantly more inactive faction with fewer endgame players. The problem crystallized years ago when more and more players switched to the Horde due to the then stronger racial abilities. This created a vicious circle.

Fewer Alliance players were finding groups, so they too switched to the Horde to reconnect.

Later he says:

There are a lot of people out there who play Horde because it’s just more enjoyable. […] When faction choice no longer affects gameplay options and who you can play with, then that’s just a big deal. […] It’s the players who have already abolished factions. And the players decided that by just playing all on the same side.

The change will ensure that every player can play the character and faction that he or she likes visually and with which they identify the most. Barriers between friends who may be playing on different sites are also almost completely removed. Ultimately, it might even help bring faction balance back – since you can just play whatever you feel like without being locked out later in the endgame.

Do you see it like Asmongold? Or do you have a completely different opinion about it?
