JJ Abrams will have a new series on Apple TV +

Apple TV + has relied on the duo made up of one of the most successful science fiction directors of recent times and the writer of several unforgettable series for their next project. So JJ Abrams (Lost) and David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) will be responsible for the adaptation of Scott Turow’s best-selling novel,”Presumed Innocent”. Both will team up with Dustin Thomason and Ben Stephenson in producing the series.

She is serious the third time that the plot of this novel is taken as the basis for a television project. In 1990 it was made into a successful movie that featured Harrison Ford in the title role. There was also a 1992 TV miniseries, The Burden of Proof, and a 2011 TV movie sequel titled Innocent.

Apple TV + will have its own version of “Presumed Innocent”

“Presumed Innocent is the story of a horrific murder that turns the Chicago District Attorney’s Office upside down when one of their own is suspected of the crime.” According to writer David E. Kelley, to bring it to a series format they plan to “reimagine” Presumed Innocent to explore “obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the defendant struggles to keep his family and marriage together.”

Although no further details about the cast or release date were shared, it is likely that we can see the result of the series this year. Since finally and after months of delays in the recording of various projects due to the global health crisis, this 2022 Apple finally seems to bet everything to consolidate its catalog.

Only for the first months of this year, the streaming service has already confirmed several releases and the closing of upcoming projects, which as always stand out for the technical level and the most recognized human talent in the industry.
