Having a horse (named Torrent) will not only help you navigate the open-world faster but also give you new ways to fight the boss that’s on the horse. Plus, torrent can sprint and double jump as well. Here’s how to unlock, get, summon and ride Torrent, the horse, in Elden Ring.

How to Unlock Horse Mount (Torrent) in Elden Ring?

• To get the horse, you have to discover and rest at Sites of Grace until Melina shows up.
• Then, when Melina appears, she will ask you something that you need to Accept. That’s when she will give Spectral Steed Whistle which can be used to summon your horse in Elden Ring.
• At such Sites of Grace, you can do a lot. You can pass the time of day (change from day to night), restore your character’s health, FP and replenish Flasks (which is also helpful for the horse, as you will see below).
• Keep in mind that the Spectral Steed Whistle will summon the horse, but not in some places such as dungeons. You are on your own there.

How to Heal Health and Revive Horse in Elden Ring?

Chances are that your horse will take damage during fights with enemies, especially bosses. If torrent ends up dying, then you can revive it by using a Flask of Crimson Tears. • Open up the Equipment menu.
• Head to Quick items.
• Choose the slot to put the Spectral Steed Whistle.
• Use the dedicated button to blow the Spectral Steed Whistle and you will see your character jump up on the horse. So, there’s no specific button you need to press to get on the horse, just blow the whistle.
• You can dismount the horse by pressing the L3 button. if you blow the whistle while you are mounted, you can dismount as well.

How to Do Spirit Spring Jumps with Horse

• If you are riding your horse and want to use the Spirit Springs to get to farther distances.
• Look for an area where you can see moving water.
• Summon Torrent and press X (PS) or X (Xbox) button to use the air current to jump longer distances and reach the locations that you may not be able to on foot.
