CoD Vanguard brings long-awaited spawn change, but players are not satisfied

Since the release of CoD Vanguard, one of the biggest criticisms of the community has been the bad spawns. The latest update is supposed to finally improve this – but the players are not satisfied. They demand even more improvements for the whole game. MyMMO tells you more.

On the evening of April 12th, Sledgehammer Games, developers of CoD Vanguard, released a long-awaited improvement in the WW2 shooter.

After some test playlists and a poll, they adjusted the in-game spawn system. The developers wrote on Twitter that “with your feedback and the data we were able to analyze from the game, the spawn adjustments turned out to be an improvement”:

These changes were previously only implemented in experimental playlists. Now they have been implemented throughout the game.

But the community is not satisfied. On social media, they complain that the spawns continue to be bad – and the game has many other problems as well. They demand significantly more changes in the game.

Vanguard has “the worst spawn system in CoD history”

What is the problem? Players who were killed in CoD Vanguard too often start their next life right next to an opponent. This often leads to a “death spiral”, where one falls from one death directly into the next without being able to defend oneself seriously.

Even before the release of CoD Vanguard, the spawn system was one of the biggest points of criticism. Players called it “probably the worst spawn system in CoD history” (via reddit).

How bad that can be is shown in this clip from the perspective of a beneficiary of bad spawns:

Especially on small maps like Das Haus and Shipment, the spawns are an incredibly annoying problem. According to the developers, the latest update should help out here, but the players are not convinced.

How is the community reacting? There is hardly any praise for the change in the community. Instead, there is much disbelief that anything has actually been improved:

  • @darryljoyzce1 picks up Twitter: “Yes, no, nothing has been improved. The spawns for Das Haus and Shipment are still completely screwed up”
  • @JONNYTEE2010 says: “What a babble, I’m literally playing 4v4 on Dome and I still spawn in front of or behind people, every update it gets worse”
  • @freebandztrev writes: “lol try harder, i’m still a monster and destroy people on spawn”

The developers’ analysis tools apparently show that the latest update is said to have brought improvements. But skeptical comments like these from the community reveal that little has changed for fans when it comes to gaming itself.

There is also a lot of criticism for numerous other aspects of the game. Instead of praise for the changes, players are demanding improvements for latency issues, weapon balancing, or the map rotations.

The cheating issue is also a major point of criticism. The community would like a better solution here, because even at the highest level there are unfair cheaters. Only recently a well-known player was exposed:
