Genshin Impact is bigger than Final Fantasy 14? Twitch streamer is totally surprised

During a Twitch stream, Zack “Asmongold” looked at the stats for the most talked about games on Twitter. He was visibly surprised at Genshin Impact’s numbers compared to Final Fantasy XIV and other games.

The “best MMORPG streamer” on Twitch found a stat on his own subreddit showing the top 10 games. The data revealed how many tweets and retweets there were for each game.

What did Asmongold say about that? The streamer was amazed to see that Genshin Impact was able to collect more than double the number of retweets than the classic MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. All he could manage at first was a surprised “Oh my God” (via YouTube).

Then he discovers that Elden Ring is only number 5 on the list and World of Warcraft isn’t represented at all. “Is Genshin really that powerful? Is it really that big on Twitter?” he asked his viewers and had an exciting idea.

Asmongold tests Genshin Impact’s might on Twitter

What was the streamer doing? To test how strong Genshin Impact really is on Twitter, he tweeted himself about the game. He just typed the title and sent the tweet. Asmongold stared at the post, “It was 2 seconds and it has 47 likes. That was 5 seconds and he has 200 likes. What? What? Why? What is that?”

The streamer acknowledged the “power” of Genshin Impact and suggested he might give the game a try. Previously, he had always avoided it as the Pay2Win aspect and microtransactions bothered him.

For comparison, a few days later he posted a tweet with “Final Fantasy 14”, which has so far received 532 retweets and 9,429 likes. To date, Genshin Impact has 1,163 retweets and 22,696 likes, so the numbers pretty much reflect the stats.

Whether Asmongold will really try Genshin Impact is still unclear, but he sees the potential behind it and may stream it in the future.
