New World brings Killer Rabbit event and major bug fix today

The new patch 1.4.2 will be released in New World today. This includes the new event, Revenge of the Rabbits, through which you can earn plaster of paris, reward chests, and a new item for better luck in the game. Also fixed an exploit on a dungeon boss.

What is this patch? Update 1.4.2 is a small patch that focuses entirely on the event and important bug fixes. The most important are:

  • Fixed an exploit on the Neishatun and Isabella bosses in the new Heart of Stormwind dungeon. There you could override the boss mechanics where you lay down or entered a certain place where you couldn’t be hit.
  • New measures have been introduced to prevent players from entering a locked arena.
  • Fixed an issue where elemental plants would not give the correct resources when gathering.

When are the changes in game? Patch maintenance began today, April 12, at 8:00 am. The servers should be back online around 10:30am, but as of this writing (10:50am) they are still offline.

What is behind the rabbit event? This special Easter event will remain active for about two weeks. Since the launch of New World, players have been killing rabbits time and time again, but now they want to get revenge on the players.

The rabbits have been contaminated by Azoth and become stronger as a result. This is somewhat reminiscent of the turkey event in November. However, it is currently unclear whether this is the case in all areas. We will update the article once the event is active.

What are the rewards? There are three rewards waiting for you, which can be dropped by the rabbits:

  • Corrupted Rabbit’s Paws, an enchanted consumable that grants players bonus luck for 40 minutes when used. You can get 5 of these per day
  • Rabbit’s Corrupted Storage Chest, a rare item said to provide outstanding storage capacity in Housing. You can get a maximum of one per account.
  • Diamond plaster to strengthen your competence. As usual, there are up to 3 of them every day, which you can put together to form a plaster cast.
