This is in Outlaws:

  • Smuggler Missions: While pirates are not new to No Man’s Sky, they are now spreading to space stations. You could choose to work with them, fulfill smuggling jobs and buy black market upgrades, or try to drive them off. If you messed up with a faction, you can now reset your reputation with a fake ID.
  • recruitable squadrons: If you want to fight the pirates in space battles, you can recruit squadrons to help you in battle. You can also recruit and upgrade pilots in the galaxy.
  • New spaceship: For the first time in two years, No Man’s Sky is getting a new ship: The Solar Ship with its solar-powered sails.
  • New cargo room: All ships get a new large cargo compartment, in which, for example, smuggled goods can be stowed.
  • Maximum ship count increased: The number of ships you can own at one time has been increased from six to nine.
  • New Expedition: The sixth expedition “The Blighted” sends you in search of pirate treasures. One of the rewards is pirate decor.
  • Space Combat Improvements: Space battles have been improved to be faster and more controllable. Weapons have new visual effects and enemy ships have shields. The new “Auto-Follow” option also allows you to automatically align your own ship with the targeted enemy.

This means that Update 3.85 aka Outlaws has plenty of new activities to offer fans again. And that’s not even two months after the last major update Sentinel, which, among other things, provided you with a robot buddy.

If you want to play No Man’s Sky on the go, that should also be possible soon: The game should be released as a port for the Nintendo Switch in the summer.

What’s new in the update do you like the most?
