WoW introduces the next addon today – so you can watch

It’s an important day for World of Warcraft fans. Today decides how to proceed with Azeroth in the coming years.

After long months of waiting, the day has finally come. World of Warcraft developers are streaming and will be talking about the next expansion. But what is the 9th expansion of WoW about? What wishes and hopes do the fans have?

When does it start today? The reveal of the next World of Warcraft expansion will take place today, April 19, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. If you want to be there live, you can watch the announcement either on YouTube or on Twitch and find out what the future of WoW looks like in the early evening. What are the players’ wishes? Quite a lot. As usual, the World of Warcraft player community is quite diverse, the wishes and hopes vary widely. It’s already clear that Blizzard can’t please all players – because often the ideas of the fans are in direct contradiction to each other.

We started a poll a few days ago and found out what players want the most. On MeinMMO the most eagerly awaited features were:

  • More account-wide unlocks
  • player housing
  • New Classes
  • All fresh PvE content
  • New talents for all classes
  • Revision of the old world
  • More established PvE content (dungeons, raids)
  • Simpler story on Azeroth, with no cosmic threats
  • Revision of professions
  • New endgame activities

What is probable? All indications of the past few weeks point to the announcement of the addon “Dragonflight”. The name was already mentioned in a leak several months ago. At the time, everyone dismissed the leak as a pipe dream, but a few days ago this designation also appeared in the code of the World of Warcraft official website. Along with some other hints such as quests in patch 9.2.5 PTR, mysterious back items and encrypted game content with dragon-like animations. This included leaked promo material showing Alexstrasza in a new look.

So far, all of this information is still unconfirmed leaks.

Of course, it would be possible for Blizzard to come as a surprise and come up with a completely different expansion – but the probability of a “Dragonflight” is extremely high.
