Elden Ring – Legendary Malenia Slayer says: She’s a nightmare after update 1.04

The fight against Malenia has become a lot harder after update 1.04.

The new Elden Ring update 1.04 not only fixes a multitude of bugs and glitches, but also makes the fight against what is probably the most feared boss in the game even harder due to a healing bug. Of course we’re talking about Malenia, who is now so difficult to crack that even her biggest enemy and community hero “let me solo her” is in awe.

“let me solo her”, also known as LMSH, has quickly become a living co-op legend by making it his honorable task to single-handedly defeat Malenia for other Elden Ring players.

LMSH has brought Malenia to his knees between 300 and 400 times, despite only carrying a great helm and two katanas. So he’s a pro at dealing with what’s arguably the toughest Elden Ring boss.

But with the latest patch, even the celebrated pothead has problems with Malenia and calls them a nightmare in his current videos. “Good luck, fellow Tainted!” he writes in the description under his video by showing us the said healing bug again:

But LMSH didn’t achieve legendary status so quickly for nothing and continues to live up to its name: Despite the impact of the update, it still manages to defeat the elegant swordsman. Just not as fast as before. If he always defeated them in around ten minutes before the patch, he now needs around 15 (via DualShockers). We wouldn’t have expected anything else!

The short version: As mentioned at the beginning, after patch 1.04 there is a healing bug that makes the fight against Malenia seem almost hopeless for many fans. It’s normal for Malenia to heal a little every time she hits you. After patch 1.04, however, the healing will also start if it only just catches you with the sword, i.e. doesn’t even hit you properly.

In addition, thanks to patch 1.04, the fly swarm summoning has been nerfed, which previously proved to be a useful tool against the boss.
