After some leaks and rumors, Ubisoft has now officially confirmed the new game Project Q. We’ll show you what we know about the PvP game and why the developers were quick to clarify something about NFTs.

What kind of game is this? In recent weeks, more and more rumors about Project Q have surfaced. This was followed by a tweet from Ubisoft on April 23rd, which begins with the words “So…we heard that you heard…”. The game was confirmed to be in development under the codename “Project Q”. This is a Team Battle Arena game, which is still in early development.

We’ll show you everything we know about the game so far and what leaks say.

No Battle Royale, No NFTs – This is Project Q

  • A team game designed for PvP

Why is there the NFT statement? In the comments below the official tweet, players feared that the new game will offer non-fungible token options through various hints. One writes that the “Q” could probably stand for Quartz. In December 2021, Ubisoft announced Quartz currency and enabled it in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Players were very dissatisfied with this. With the Q in the name of the new game, they feared a comeback of this currency. But Ubisoft says it “has no plans to add NFTs to the game right now” (via Twitter.com).

What was leaked? Insider Tom Henderson has already found out some information about the game in the last few days. He is known to have contacts in the gaming industry, through which he has already been able to predict some announcements with certainty.

According to him, the game has two game modes. One is “Showdown” and a kind of Battle Royale in which four teams, each with two players, fight each other. The other is called Battle Zone and is an arena battle mode in which two teams of four players compete to be the first to get 100 points. This contradicts the announcement by Ubisoft, which specifically mentions the waiver of Battle Royale. On the website Exporter.com Henderson writes his insider report including leaked gameplay video.

While there are a few weapons that shoot projectiles in the leaked gameplay, it doesn’t look like a typical shooter. In the game there are special items like the Staff of Wukong, which you can use to perform cool combos in battle. The game is probably mainly based on movement and fighting in close combat.

More official details will come as we get closer to the game’s public testing. The registration page says to be patient as the product is still in development.
