5 Exo Weapons in Destiny 2 you should get before Season 17 starts and why they’re worth it

Destiny 2 Skyburner Oath

In Destiny 2 there will be a lot of changes for many weapons soon. An update will soon not only change the function of some weapons, but also bring old Exos to desirable glory. We’ll show you which guns you should secure before Season 17.

What will change? Bungie gave a lot of insight into upcoming sandbox changes in their last TWaB on April 22nd. There was talk of adjustments to various weapon types such as shotguns, SMGs and more, as well as the introduction of a new invisible weapon trait.

Many exo-weapons will also benefit from the upcoming changes. We therefore recommend these five copies of the rare exotics so that you are well prepared for the start of Season 17.

5 Weapons You Should Get Before Season 17

These five weapons are guns that Bungie would like to upgrade. We’ll show you which weapons are, what they can do and what exactly is being adjusted. The shooting irons are as follows:

  • Skyburner Oath
  • wave splitter
  • xenophage
  • Leviathan touch
  • Blade of Agreement

The changes should come into effect over time, by the start of Season 17 at the latest. We’ll let you know when exactly that will happen.

Skyburner Oath

Destiny 2 Skyburner Oath
The Cabal Scout Rifle

What is this weapon? This is an old cabal scout rifle that fires solar missiles fully automatically. These projectiles will explode and track their targets when fired from the hip.

Should you aim, these projectiles fly in a straight line, slightly homing, hitting your enemies with heavier force. However, this weapon is rarely used except in the hard “Proving Grounds” strike.

What will be adjusted on the weapon? The scout rifle will be completely revamped and will soon be able to shine with the following changes:

  • Projectiles no longer explode when hip fired, instead setting targets on fire
  • The weapon will have the best “Airborne Effectiveness” in the game – 35 points
  • Catalyst will increase reload rate instead of range

Should Solar 3.0 take place like in the big leak in Season 17, this exotic will be a good gun for burns. So grab the gun, complete its catalyst, and get ready.

wave splitter

Destiny 2 Wavesplitter
A crazy trace rifle

What is this weapon? This Void Trace Rifle is one of Destiny 2’s laser-powered three elemental Trace Rifles. The Wavesplitter lets you fire a Void Beam at your enemies that changes power at random. Should you pick up an orb of power, it grants maximum power for a short duration, starting with an automatic reload.

What will be adjusted on the weapon? The Trace Rifle will now receive some changes, which are as follows:

  • The average beam strength is increased by the damage
  • Overcharged Battery duration is increased when picking up an Orb of Power
  • If Overcharged Battery is active and you pick up an Orb of Power, you will gain a suppressing effect on your subsequent shots.

Since Void 3.0 synergizes well with various weapons, Wavesplitter would make a good build weapon when the changes take effect.

xenophage

Destiny 2 Xenophage
The dusty legend – Xenophage

What is this weapon? It is the slow-firing Exo-MG “Xenophage”. This MG fires exploding solar ammo that hit bosses hard. Bungie, however, nerfed the rate of fire and thus ensured that hardly any player wanted to gamble it anymore.

What will be adjusted on the weapon? Bungie realized that the nerf was what killed the MG, so they wanted to restore the rifle to its former glory and are therefore restoring its rate of fire and damage values.

Thus, players have the opportunity to kick bosses into nirvana again. The upcoming change changes the time-to-kill of the weapon again and catapults it back to its old place. So if you are looking for a good weapon for DPS, Xeno will be your faithful companion again and you will probably encounter it more often in the Gambit, in the hands of invaders.

Leviathan touch

Destiny 2 Leviathan Breath
The Bombastic Bow – Leviathan Touch

What is this weapon? This is the extinct heavy bow Leviathan’s Breath. This bow not only has an explosive arrow, but also the ability to stop Unstoppable Champios. However, that wasn’t enough to make this weapon more popular, so the bow was sent back to Banshee for some adjustments.

What will be adjusted on the weapon? Many players complained that the weapon’s catalyst didn’t reduce the arrow’s cocking time. But Bungie will change that with upcoming updates, because players will be able to shoot their destructive arrows faster with a completed Kat.

In addition, the damage is increased by 50%, which benefits the weapon enormously in terms of DPS. To help with disrupting champions as well, the explosion will be delayed to allow the delay effect to work as well.

Should you be looking for an extravagant option for boss DPS, this powerful bow could become your companion.

Blade of Agreement

Destiny 2 Blade of Agreement
The Hunter’s Exo Glaive

What is this weapon? The exotic glaives were a disappointment for many players when they could be earned. They were even weaker than their legendary variants. Bungie didn’t want to leave it that way and made some preparations so that the Exo Glaives can shine again.

In particular, the exotic hunter glaive could hardly or not at all score. Her arc energy wave, which can kill and chain enemies, wasn’t powerful enough and even consumed the weapon’s shield completely. That will finally change in Season 17.

What will be adjusted on the weapon? All exotic glaives are getting an overhaul, but the hunter glaive will finally be able to perform its tasks better and more efficiently:

  • Damage from bumps increases by 3 times
  • Eight enemies are chained instead of four when struck by the Arc Wave

This definitely makes the weapon more worthy of its Exotic status and perhaps more hunters will dare to equip the weapon.
