WoW: Legendaries as a luxury problem – With patch 9.2.5 everything will be much cheaper

Crafting legendary items in World of Warcraft is expensive – that should change. Craftsmen will soon have it much easier.

Legendary items in World of Warcraft are essential. At item level 291, two of them are often seen as a prerequisite for being taken into dungeons and raids at all. The production is quite expensive. Not only because the materials cost a lot, but because you often pay for the hundreds of thousands of gold pieces that the manufacturer had to put into skilling his job. That should change soon.

What is the problem? Legendary items are essential because they not only have a high item level, but also define the play style of many classes and provide a significant increase in performance. However, the necessary items are often really expensive – depending on the realm, you can pay up to 100,000 gold for an item at level 291, in some cases significantly more.

For many players, the solution is clear: selling a WoW brand and thus buying the items for real money.

This in turn leads to frustration and a “Pay2Win” accusation. Although you can also earn the gold, it is much faster with a few euros.

What will be changed? With patch 9.2.5, Blizzard will drastically simplify the crafting of legendary items – or at least the path you have to take to do so. Until now, it was necessary to laboriously skill each slot and produce up to 45 items in order to ultimately be able to craft the final rank of a legendary item.

With patch 9.2.5, Blizzard increases experience gained from each crafting process by a whopping 400%. This means that you no longer have to produce 15 items per rank, but only 3.

What does that mean in plain language? Above all, the changes ensure that it will be much easier for players to provide themselves or their guildmates and friends with legendary items. Because instead of producing 45 “useless” items, only 9 will have to be produced in the future. The resources invested are significantly lower and so is the financial effort to skill the relevant professions to the maximum.

However, the materials used to manufacture the end product are not reduced – only the way to get there is drastically easier. For self-sufficient and “completionists” that’s certainly a good thing.

However, there is no release date for patch 9.2.5 yet.
