The Last of Us HBO: Joel has ‘no gaming skills’ and Ellie makes fun of it like in the game

The Last of Us is coming out as an HBO series and Bella Ramsey plays Ellie in it, which seems to fit very well.

As hard as The Last of Us may be at times, there is also a lot of humor in it. Ellie not only reads tons of bad jokes to Joel, but makes tons of them herself. Especially at the expense of Joel, with whom she travels through the post-apocalypse.

That shouldn’t change in the HBO series either, and it looks like Bella Ramsey is exactly the right person for the role of Ellie: she makes fun of the gaming skills of her fellow actor Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel in embodied in the HBO film adaptation.

That’s what it’s about: While Pedro Pascal plays Joel in The Last of Us series, he has never fully completed either title. He only recently stated that himself. However, there are two good reasons for this. On the one hand, he doesn’t want to unintentionally mimic too much what Troy Baker did with Joel in the games. On the other hand, it is probably simply because his skills are not sufficient.

Ellie makes fun of it mercilessly: A small but fine interaction on Twitter shows how well Bella Ramsey fits into the role of Ellie. There she was asked by a fan to get Pedro Pascal to play the entire game. To which she responds with the following statement:

The whole thing may have been meant to be humorous – or simply refer to what Pedro Pascal himself said. Be that as it may, apparently it is with the “Gaming Skillz” by Bella Ramsey not too far either. In any case, she writes in another tweet that they are both just as bad as the other person.
