An underestimated item in CoD Warzone saves you from annoying zipline campers
The gas canisters in Call of Duty: Warzone are usually considered a nice gimmick rather than a helpful gameplay element. But the underestimated explosive devices can do more than meets the eye – because they like “elevator rides”.
The usual problem: You stand in front of a zipline in Call of Duty: Warzone and already know exactly what to expect at the top. The gun barrel of a nasty grinning camper.
One of the team tries anyway. The zipline is long, the ride up feels like forever. That’s when the second team member’s nerves run out. Even before “dead player 1” is up, number 2 also signs his death warrant.
The one left behind shakes his head and presses a manic “YOLO” out of his face. “Click” – get on the zipline and decorate opponents with sprays together in the Gulag.

Gas canisters and ziplines work together
How does this work? A little-known mechanic in Warzone lets the gas canister shoot up via zipline. As seen in the reddit clip here:
Your operator lights the canister, clamps it to the zipline and the explosives are on their way. In the video, the thread creator “LegoManPro” blows up one of the “Redeploy Balloons”.
But this also works with all other ziplines that lead upwards. But the canisters don’t want to go down – that’s when the gas explodes.
The canister’s explosion will momentarily unnerve enemies seated above and even leave you with a cloud of smoke for cover. If opponents are right at the end of the zipline, they will also receive a heavy hit from the explosion.
The damage can even be increased if you combine the part with a Claymore:
Next time you don’t trust a zipline, clip the canister to it and follow it 2 seconds later. There is no guarantee of survival, but the chances are much better.
Warzone has many small mechanics that can save your ass in the right situation. Experiment, forget the formula, and figure out how to stay one step ahead of your enemies at any point in the match.
