Forza Motorsport leak reveals first screenshots and version for Xbox One

After Forza Horizon 5 is before the reboot of Forza Motorsport, which was announced by developer Playground Games in July 2020 with a first trailer, but it has been quiet since then. Now a leak has appeared that not only shows the first screenshots from the game, but also comes with very interesting information: The Microsoft-exclusive racing game should not only appear for Xbox Series X/S and PC, but also for Xbox One.

Where did the leak come from? Both the images and the information regarding the platforms come from Reddit users Zorpalweapon and were also verified by a moderator of the r/GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit. The screenshots are said to be from the Xbox One version of the game and were taken in July 2021, according to the source. A selection of content creators is said to be DualShockers already played the game.

The fact that Forza Motorsport, like Forza Horizon 5 and Gran Turismo 7, will not be a pure “next-gen” title should cause mixed feelings among fans. Racing games are often used as graphics benchmarks, and the cross-gen announcement of GT7 caused some resentment at the time.

But it should also be clear that both Horizon 5 and Gran Turismo 7 on Xbox Series X/S or PS5 are extremely chic racing games and the availability of the new console generation is anything but good, the development for both systems on the part Playground Games would be understandable. The question is always what would have been possible without “last-gen-last” from a technical point of view.
