Is Breath of the Wild better than Ocarina of Time?

While some of you may have a secret favorite, for many years Zelda: Ocarina of Time was considered the best installment in the series. Until Nintendo released another worthy contender for the throne 19 years later with Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Since then, many have asked themselves the question: what is better – the classic or the latest series part? Now, surprisingly, one of the most famous wrestlers of all time joins the discussion.

It used to be about belts, now it’s about video games

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is one of the most popular faces from WWE’s golden age – and the 57-year-old is still in amazing shape. But instead of in the ring, Austin now prefers to be in front of a microphone because the former wrestler has his own podcast.

In the preview of the upcoming episode of “The Broken Skull,” we see an interesting confrontation between Steve Austin and his former colleague Cody Rhodes. It’s about the question of which Zelda game is the best of all time. “Ocarina of Time, of course,” Rhodes replies, but Austin disagrees. “Breath of the Wild,” he says with a shake of his head and a resolute gesture.

It’s nice to see that the former competitors are now using words instead of clotheslines and powerbombs. On the other hand, it would certainly be interesting if the two got back in the ring to settle the Zelda question once and for all in the Link cosplay.

A question of generation? “The best Zelda” probably doesn’t exist, because, like us, a lot of it is about personal taste. For many older gamers who played Ocarina of Time at launch, it will probably remain number 1 forever. The younger generation may not be able to do as much with the partly outdated mechanics and the overall game structure and for the most part probably prefer Breath of the Wild. Or what do you mean?

It doesn’t matter whether you’re on the Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild side, maybe the next part will be even better than the two titles. Unfortunately we have to wait until 2023 before we can play the Breath of the Wild successor, which could possibly be called Breath of Duality.

If you need a Zelda fix later this year, you can probably check out The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD on the Switch, which will likely serve as a stopgap, possibly even as a bundle. But that’s not official yet.
