If Skyrim were real, we could fly to the moon with a €1 IKEA bowl

If we want to fly in real life, we usually have to buy an expensive ticket for an airplane. It would be much nicer if we could just hop into one of our IKEA bowls and fly away. That would definitely be more environmentally friendly. That may be a dream in the real world, but it’s possible in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, as a Reddit post shows.

Fly with a bowl

It’s all about this: Redditor Sambone38 shares a very interesting clip: In the Dwemer ruin Mzulft, the player character jumps into a bowl and from there interacts with it. This may sound unspectacular at first, but it has a rather unexpected effect.

The character suddenly begins to soar into the air. It looks like he’s picking up the bowl with himself in it and lifting it higher and higher. This ultimately leads to him flying – right up to the ceiling of the ruin. Pretty cool aircraft. So instead of a flying saucer, there is the flying bowl.

Here you can admire the air show itself:

But how the hell did Sambone38 come up with this idea? The Skyrim fan explains this in a comment: Obviously this is not the first banal household item that has been misused to fly. Sambone38 had previously seen a bucket flight video and therefore dared the test with the bowl.

Of course, these are glitches that are not intended in the game – and if you are now thinking about standing on your breakfast bowl in real life as a test: Just don’t do it!

Do you already know the funny flight glitches and what do you think of them? Do you think they can be useful for anything?
