Trymacs on GermanLetsPlay exit - "He'll be back sooner than we think"

On April 23, YouTube veteran Manuel “GermanLetsPlay” B. announced in a video that he would be leaving the platform indefinitely. Some content creators are reacting to the video and Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler in particular is pretty sure that GLP will be back soon.

This is the situation around GermanLetsPlay:

  • The YouTuber has been active since 2010 and has been uploading Let’s Plays non-stop ever since. With 3.65 million subscribers, he is one of the largest German gaming YouTubers on the platform.
  • EnglishLetsPlay, in his farewell video, spoke of a misdiagnosis by doctors who, for 10 years, led him to believe he was going to die soon. It wasn’t until late 2021 that he found out he had the deadly disease primary sclerosing cholangitis don’t have it at all, but still something is amiss. What exactly, no doctor could say so far.
  • Now, due to his medical history, the 30-year-old has announced that he will be leaving YouTube. GLP said he might come back on an ad hoc basis with major game updates like Rift or Minecraft, but don’t wait for him.
  • He is considered a childhood legend by many viewers and is respected by many of his YouTube peers. Trymacs said in his reaction to the video: “He will be back sooner than we think”.

Trymacs, Paluten, Rezo and Niekbeats reacted to GLP’s farewell

What did Trymacs say in his reaction? He first praised GermanLetsPlay and emphasized how long the YouTuber has been a Let’s Player. He only listed Gronkh and Paluten as comparisons. In addition, Trymacs notes that GLP is the most successful German YouTuber without a facecam.

When GermanLetsPlay said in the video that he might bring a few videos with big updates, Stemmler said he will definitely come back sooner than everyone thinks:

He will come back like this. (…) He’ll definitely take a break for now, but he’s having too much fun – he’ll 100 percent come back. (…) But you should definitely not annoy him. It will come back sooner than we think.

Furthermore, Trymacs was shocked by the misdiagnoses on the part of the doctors and said that doctors in the USA had already been sued for billions of euros because of wrong diagnoses. The video affected him more than he thought and he wishes GLP a speedy recovery.

What did Paluten say about GermanLetsPlay’s farewell?

The YouTuber deliberately did not react to the GermanLetsPlay video because he is not very good at commenting on such topics.

In addition, Paluten is one of GLP’s best friends and knew about the indefinitely long break even before the video. The two, along with YouTuber Zombey and Maudado, form the viewer-favorite “Freedom Squad.”

Fans have expressed concern that the Freedom Squad is now disbanding, but Paluten denied this, reiterating that the four are more than just fellow YouTubers – they are very good friends.

Farther Paluten watched another video called “The End of GermanLetsPlay”, in which some excerpts of him together with the other three could be seen again. He said sadly: “It’s nice that you don’t share the epic moments with each other anymore – yeah…” and bowed his head.

Paluten also said that “YouTube is just missing something” and fully supports his friend’s decision.

What does Rezo think of GLP’s video?

Rezo doesn’t have very many points of contact with GermanLetsPlay, but was persuaded by his viewers to watch the video (via YouTube). He also said that it must have been stressful to live 10 years with a death diagnosis that later turned out to be wrong.

However, Rezo showed understanding towards the doctors: “People just want to get through their day to some extent or make mistakes or make wrong decisions or something – everyone does that, there’s no other way.” Doctors are only human, just like Example a plumber, said Rezo and you should definitely always get a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

Most recently, Rezo emphasized that GLP made the right decision to take a break.

What did Niekbeats say about GermanLetsPlay’s farewell?

Niek said in his reactionthat it’s really “a big thing” when someone like that leaves the scene. He also feels sorry for GLP and deserves his time off after toiling away for a number of years.

At the end, Niek said: “One always thinks: The YouTubers and streamers live their best lives and stuff. But you have the same problems as everyone else. Or some health problems. Everyone has it, you are not immortal because of the privilege.”
