‘The Dark Tower’

After all the avalanche of negative opinions that it received in its premiere, it is doubtful that we will see how this adaptation of what for many is the great work of Stephen King along with ‘It’ continues. After the hangover of hate on social networks, it is worth recovering and revising it: although its flaws are indisputable, the confrontation between the cowboy Roland Deschain and the man in black continues to maintain a unique magnetism, reinforced here by stupendous performances by Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.

‘Thelma’

A fascinating Norwegian film that mixes supernatural thriller and intimate youth drama with the story of a young woman from a family of strong religious beliefs who discovers that she has inexplicable psychokinetic powers, which manifest when she feels attracted to another student. Quiet and with a gentle rhythm, but brimming with forceful images, it bets on a disturbing vision of repressed feelings.

‘rocketer’

Before the MCU and its interconnected universes, the director of ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ already rehearsed a retro superhero adventure film with a Disney production that, despite its failure at the box office, retains all the adorable charm of an old comic. A masked, rocket-packed hero benefiting from an incredible cast: operetta villain Timothy Dalton and endangered pin-up Jennifer Connelly.
