What could that mean? It may be a new friend code system. Other platforms like Discord use the username and a four-digit code instead of a long number code to add new friends.

So far, it was only possible to add friends on Nintendo Switch using a 12-digit friend code or via social media. The numeric code assigned to each account allows Nintendo Switch users to change their names at any time.
