Bethesda: Postponement: Starfield & Redfall won’t come until 2023

Bethesda (Unternehmen) von Bethesda Softworks

A little punch in the pit of the stomach: The long-awaited Bethesda games Starfield & Redfall are no longer coming this year. Both release dates have been postponed because the development teams need more time.

Just over 90 minutes ago, a blunt post appeared on Bethesda’s Twitter account, which read: “We have made the decision to delay the releases of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023. The Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda teams Games Studios (Starfield) have incredibly high ambitions for their games and we want to make sure you get the best, most polished versions of them. Thank you everyone for the excitement surrounding Redfall and Starfield. That energy is a huge part of it, which inspires us every day and also fuels our own enthusiasm for the things we create. We can’t wait to share the first deeper look at Redfall and Starfield with you soon. Thanks for your support.”

The sci-fi role-playing game Starfield, which is extremely important for Bethesda, was originally supposed to be released on November 11th. The “open-world co-op shooter with bite” – as Betheda Redfall describes it – would have been there even before that, in September 2022. Unfortunately, there is not yet a more specific date than the first half of 2023 for both games.

What do you think? Would you rather have properly finished games next year or don’t you think Bethesda will deliver properly after the Fallout 76 debacle anyway? And what about the Christmas vacation in space that many of you have been looking forward to?
