Resident Evil – Trailer for the Netflix series sends you to New Raccoon City
The Netflix series for Resident Evil has so far only been shown in a few short teasers, now there is finally a first real trailer for the live-action adaptation to see, which finally reveals a little more and is also visually impressive – or you even get two Watch trailer if you’re paying attention.
This is what awaits you in the Resident Evil series
As was previously known, the series is only loosely based on the games, but brings back Albert Wesker, probably the most well-known Resident Evil villain. In the series he is embodied by Lance Reddick, who is known, among other things, from John Wick or for his role as Sylens in Horizon Forbidden West.
The series follows Wesker’s daughters Jade and Billie. In the first few seconds of the trailer, accompanied by happy music, we get to see the seemingly ideal world of New Racoon City in 2022. Fans of the games should be suspicious at the latest when the first logo of the Umbrella group flickers across the screen, but at the latest when Wesker Senior is experimenting on rats in the laboratory.
Of course, this is confirmed when the mood changes in the second half of the trailer and suddenly a post-apocalyptic setting in London in the year 2036 is presented. The world is now overrun by zombies. Hardly anything is recognizable from the rapidly changing scenes that follow, but the dark setting and bloody action should at least feel familiar to Resident Evil fans.
The rather serious and gloomy presentation of the new series could be interesting for everyone who was not completely convinced by the B-movie atmosphere of the last cinema film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.
Second hidden trailer
If you paid close attention, you could even see a second trailer for the series. In the first trailer, there is a short link to the page umbrellaisjoy.com shown, which leads to an actual website along with a second trailer. In addition to the creepy little bear mascot, you can also find well-known monsters such as the Licker in it:
