Pokémon GO Events in the next few days: Spotlight, Raids and Community Day

Pokemon Go Gyarados

What’s happening in Pokemon GO in the next few days? In the overview we show you all upcoming events.

Pokemon GO has a few events coming up next week. We will show you what you can prepare for and whether the events are worthwhile for you.

This includes the weekly raid and spotlight hours and the big community day with Alola Kleinstein.

Spotlight Hour on May 17th

What happens there? At the spotlight hour on May 17th, starting at 6 p.m., the focus will be on the Pokémon Magikarp for one hour. You will meet the fish almost everywhere in the wilderness. There is also a bonus that gives you twice as much XP for evolving Pokémon. The event ends again at 7:00 p.m.

Is it worth it? The event is worthwhile for various reasons. There is a chance to catch Shiny Magikarp in Pokémon GO. The Pokemon comes in the dazzling yellow/gold form and is popular with players. His further development Gyarados is a strong attacker and looks really good as a Shiny in red.

Gyarados cannot be missing from our overview of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.

PvP: The Master League and ML Premier Classic will also be running from May 17th to May 24th in PvP. Both with triple stardust for wins.

Raid hour on May 18th

What happens there? May 18 Raid Hour with Tapu-Kime runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Is it worth it? There was already a raid hour in exactly this form on May 11th. So if you want to collect more Tapu Kime candies or catch strong specimens for your collection, you can take advantage of the hour. In our counter-guide we show you the 20 best counters against Kapu-Kime.

Community Day on May 21st

What happens there? Every month there is a Community Day in Pokémon GO, which focuses on a selected Pokémon for the event period. In May, Alolan Stone is the Pokemon. There are also bonuses such as triple catch stardust, double catch candies, longer duration of smoke, reduced stardust costs when trading and an additional special trade. This also includes special research for the price of €1, which you can now even give away to other trainers.

Is it worth it? The C-Day events are always important for the trainers. Recently, there has been a lot of criticism of Niantic for turning the duration of C-Day back from 6 hours to 3 hours. Coaches just couldn’t believe the explanation.

It’s definitely worth participating for the bonuses of the event alone. Triple stardust when catching should fill your reserves well again. In addition, the 1 € research always offers good opportunities to get valuable items cheaply.

Our overview of Community Day with Alolan Kleinstein in May shows you all the content of the event. In the course of the week you will also find an event guide here on MeinMMO, which will prepare you optimally for the event.
