Pokémon GO: Snapshot of Water Pokémon for Poni adventures - Here's how

For the special research “A Poni’s Adventure” in Pokémon GO, you should take a snapshot of a water-type Pokémon. However, the task is unclear – we’ll show you how to solve it.

What is this task? The big water festival is currently underway for the Pokémon GO trainers. Pokémon of this type are the focus and can be found more often in raids, in the wild and also in eggs. The special research “A Poni Adventure” is active at the same time and brings you a few quests that fit the event.

But Trainers are struggling with the “Take a snapshot of a Water-type Pokémon” task that sounds so easy. How do you solve them?

Water snapshot trick

Where is the task? In the special research “A Poni Adventure” you will find the snapshot task in chapter 2. You will be rewarded with an encounter with Wailmer and must complete the quest to continue in Chapter 3.

This is how it works: Snapshot doesn’t work if you snap a wild Water-type Pokémon. You must take the snapshot of a Water-type Pokémon that is already in your collection. To do this, open your Pokemon collection, look for a Water Pokemon, and then tap the camera icon. You can then take a snapshot and you have completed the task.

Niantic could have formulated the task more clearly here. Because there is also other research that explicitly asks for snapshots of Pokémon from your own collection or from the wild.

After you have solved the task, you can diligently continue playing the special research for the Poni adventure. In Chapter 3 you should catch Pokémon, turn stops and run a certain distance. In chapter 4 you can expect an encounter with Alola Kokowei.

The Community Day in May starts in a few days – that’s in it.
