Leaked story about the PS5 Exclusive Abandoned is either fake or completely bananas

Abandoned is almost a meme in its own right now, and this new leak fits in with that.

There have been a lot of myths and mysteries surrounding the PS5-exclusive Abandoned since the beginning. This has recently included a supposed leak that could reveal what the horror game is supposed to be about. However, this leak is noticeable because it really looks very trashy and absurd. If this leak is real and we’re dealing with an early story draft, we can expect something very special.

Abandoned: Leak is said to show script, screenshot and motion capturing

New alleged Abandoned leak: A new leak is currently heating up the minds of potential Abandoned fans. It should not only reveal a meaningless screenshot of a wall and an equally meaningless motion capture video, but also one page of the underlying script.

Is this really the story? If this script is really real, it must be a very early, rough draft. There’s no sign of who’s talking to whom here, the page just seems to be a photograph, and the text is riddled with spelling mistakes. In terms of content, too, the whole thing really doesn’t impress with the highest quality, but of course tastes differ.

This is in it: Someone wants to unleash their creation, dubbed Zero Cell, on humanity. This is a bioweapon that was created by an AI and can also be installed on humans. Behind this is a curious team that is said to have been set up by the US government in 1974 and is called Team 74.

The other names also raise eyebrows: Project Blue Box is probably not called the same as the developer studio behind Abandoned, Blue Box Games. The mention of real-time calculations is also reminiscent of the so-called Realtime Experience App, in which the first trailer for Abandoned was supposed to be presented.

If fake: By whom? The whole thing looks like a kind of joke or a quickly put together pseudo-leak. But of course that’s not so easy to say, especially not with a game like this. Theoretically, Blue Box Games would also be able to put such a leak into the world itself – regardless of whether it is the real story of the game or not. Insider Nick isn’t sure what to make of the matter either. However, his statements are, for example, by DualShockers interpreted as confirmation:

That’s what it’s about: Above all, Abandoned became famous because many fans suspected for a long time that the next Hideo Kojima game or even Silent Hill was behind the new PS5 exclusive. But the people behind it insist that that’s not true, which only strengthens many fans in their belief. There are also tons of strange PR moves and curious hints. Here you can get an overview:

As you can see, you see nothing. The whole thing is now so inscrutable that we at Abandoned may be dealing with a really ingenious marketing strategy. But maybe it’s just a few people who got overwhelmed by the whole thing. Maybe both. It is therefore almost impossible to clarify whether the new leak is real or not.
