Panasonic is igniting a whole series of fireworks for 2022. Seven series will be launched over the course of the year. The Japanese maintain both the OLED and the LCD technology. On top of that, there are again two different operating systems with My Home Screen and Android TV. The size selection is almost unlimited and lies between 24 and 77 inches.
Android TV is used in the LSW 504 and LXW 704 LCD series. They therefore boast good connectivity and the Google Assistant language assistant. The entry-level series LSW 504 HD and Full HD counts up to a size of 43 inches. UHD and High Dynamic Range starts in the LXW 704 series from 43 inches and goes up to 75 inches.
The next quality level is entered with the 4K LCD models of the LXW 834 and 944 series, which use Panasonic’s own My Home Screen 7.0 operating system. She already counts Panasonic among the premium TVs and highlights HDMI 2.1 as an important innovation with improvements in gaming functions. In addition to sharpness and color fidelity, short response times and flexible adjustment to the data rates are now also important. Sizes range from 43 to 75 inches.
The new 4K OLED series LZW 984, 1004 and 2004, which together cover 42 to 77 inches, are also based on these improvements. They stand for the highest image quality, and they all feature the latest generation of OLED panels.
Nevertheless, Panasonic differentiates: The designations “OLED”, “Master OLED” and “Master OLED Pro” are linked to different configurations in the control and express the differences in quality between the three series. According to Panasonic, they all have a bit more peak brightness and improvements in color reproduction.
The top series LZW 2004 sets additional tonal accents. It offers a Dolby Atmos soundbar. The driver array radiates forward, sideways and up. Apart from the higher quality surround sound, the front-facing speakers have the advantage that dialogue is easier to understand.
Finally, Panasonic also emphasizes voice control and the “Penta Tuner” as an important equipment element. The Premium series except the LXW 834 models are equipped with it. The Penta Tuner is characterized above all by its IP>TV function, which converts DVB signals into data signals. TVs or other receiving devices receive these data signals via WLAN and can thus play back the live TV program. IP>TV supplements the usual four TV signal paths cable, satellite, antenna and internet.
Panasonic has not yet announced when and at what price the models will arrive in its product presentation.
