State of Play: Next PS5 event could take place before the Xbox showcase

We may soon get new information about God of War: Ragnarok and other Sony blockbusters.

The big Xbox and Bethesda showcase will take place on June 12th. Possibly Sony could anticipate the event with a State of Play. At least that’s what a new rumor suggests.

State of Play possibly early June

It’s all about this: A State of Play this year already focused on Japanese games, another was completely devoted to Hogwarts Legacy. It’s been a while since Sony provided us with information about Spider-Man 2 or God of War: Ragnarök at an event. More precisely: That was in September last year.

Insider spread rumour: The journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb now reports in one YouTube video, he has heard from “several people” that there will be a Sony show in the first week of June. He also speculates that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could be part of the event.

Publisher Activision is bought by Microsoft, but the takeover is not yet complete. As comicbook.com reported, June 9th – or at least an obvious date – is the unveiling date for the new shooter part through the bush radio.

How likely is it that the rumor is true? While Jeff Grubb is an industry insider, he is often quick to spread rumors, and in the past these have often proven to be untrue. In this case, he does not want to comment on credibility himself. However, it would actually be time for Sony to provide us with news about God of War: Ragnarök and Co.
