gamescom 2022: Don’t worry, around 250 exhibitors will bring back that real trade fair feeling

gamescom is finally returning to the Cologne trade fair.

In 2022, gamescom should be more like it used to be – just like in the record year 2019. Those responsible will probably not be able to quite reach the numbers, but the event is on the right track.

As can be seen from a press release, around 250 companies have already confirmed their participation in the fair – including Microsoft and Sony. gamescom 2022 should once again cover the entire exhibition center in Cologne with all the exhibitors and events and fill all the halls.

Hybrid concept: Even if gamescom 2022 is taking place again in Cologne after more than two years with an audience, some online concepts from recent years will remain in place. Not only those present are picked up on site, but also everyone who wants to follow the event from home. So if you don’t make it to Cologne, you’ll get a program, everyone else can look forward to the trade fair feeling – corona-compliant, of course.

When will gamescom 2022 take place? From the August 24-28, 2022. As usual, August 24th, i.e. Wednesday, is the day for trade visitors and the press. From Thursday, August 25th, the fair will then be open to the general public.

Opening Night Live: This year, gamescom will start with a grand opening show, which will once again take place live on site. Nothing concrete is known yet, but you can expect a lot of trailers and new announcements at the ONL on August 23rd. The chances of more high-profile acts than ever before are good after E3 2022 was completely canceled. Of course you can attend the show via live stream.

The Indie Arena Booth is also back:

Event area: The ONL takes place in Hall 1 of the Cologne Trade Fair, which is also home to the event area. Various events and subject areas await you here: Family & Friends, Cosplay, Retro or the Indie Area. On the gamescom campus you will find information and points of contact if you are aiming for a career in the games industry, and of course a whole lot of merch is also sold (via gamescom).
