Battlefield 2042: The first season starts in early June, says DICE

According to DICE, the first season of Battlefield 2042 will start next month. At the same time, the developer is presenting the patch notes for update 4.1, which will be released today.

The updates are starting

Season 1 was originally supposed to be released in early 2022, but was pushed to the summer because the studio wanted to take care of the shooter’s many problems first – understandably.

Exactly what the first season will contain isn’t officially confirmed yet, but DICE confirms that there will be update notes shortly before release.

Today, May 19, players can already have one new patch which brings “further bug fixes and quality of life improvements as well as updating the All-Out Warfare rotations and some balance changes to weapons and specialists”.

The planned updates support EA’s CEO’s recent statement last week that the company is sticking with Battlefield 2042 for the long term.

“It is one of the greatest franchises in our industry, developed by one of the best teams in the business, and we expect it to continue to grow and be a really important part of our portfolio for many, many years to come.” Andrew Wilson.
