Lost Ark: With the new class you are tank and DD – this is how the destroyer plays

With the May update, Lost Ark brings the Destroyer into play as the fourth subclass of the warrior. MeinMMO author Anny Bader took a closer look at it and explains what is important.

As a Destroyer, you deal high burst damage while also having a lot of defense. Since the class is very slow, you can just stand still in some attacks. Some of your attacks will also create a shield for even better defense.

He’s popular on Korean and Russian servers due to his speed at taking down bosses and some of the best crowd control. Therefore, the Destroyer is also suitable for PvP and is a useful party member.

This is how the destroyer plays

This is the special ability destroyer: Skills are divided into Gravity Release Skills (purple) and Concentration Skills (blue). By performing blue attacks, you charge orbs that cause purple skills to do more damage based on the number of orbs charged.

When using the gratification release abilities, you in turn charge a bar that improves your blue skills. You need that in turn to bring your Destroyer into God mode, which makes it even more powerful.

• earth shatter: Hit your hammer on the ground and create a rock. Hit him to create a blast that deals damage and stuns enemies.
• Gravity Impact: Slam your hammer down, generating energy that pulls enemies towards you. Attack them 8x and make them explode at the end.
• Gravity Power: Generate gravitational energy in a straight line in front of you, attracting enemies while attacking 7x.
• BattleMech: Deal damage with a shockwave. Then you jump in the air and drop your hammer on opponents. counter attack.
• power stroke: Smash the ground 3x.
• Empowered Shoulders: Crouch and charge forward, attacking 4x. Can be used as a combo.
• endure pain: Roar that hurts nearby enemies. You then gain shock immunity and take 15% less damage for 5 seconds.
• Heavy Crusher: Hit the ground with your hammer.
• Sprint Smash: Hold to sprint forward and attack enemies 7x.
• Leap Smash: Jump to a target location within 10 meters and smash your hammer to the ground there.

Gravity Release Skills

• One man army: Swing your hammer forward and hit 6x.
• earthquake hammer: Slam the hammer down, creating a cone-shaped wall that deals damage.
• eartheater: Smash the ground behind you. Then you turn 3x and deal damage several times.
• Gravitational Compression: Generate a gravitational wave. Hold for 2 seconds to create a black hole. This will explode when you release the hold button. Hold max for as much damage as possible.
• Neutralizer: Hit the ground and create a shock wave. Press again to unleash an even stronger wave.
• Perfect transducer: Charge for 2 seconds to charge forward and deal damage. Overload to increase effects.
• Full momentum: Hit your hammer behind you and make a full turn, attacking 3 times. Overload for more damage.

The destroyer in the leveling process

It is important when distributing the points that you never have to bring the skill levels higher than level 10. Skill level 4 is required for the first tripod, skill level 7 for the second, and skill level 10 for the third.

The best builds in endgame

In the endgame, as with most other classes, you choose between two class engravings. You either focus on crit or defense.

Class Engraving A: Hammer of Rage

What does the engraving do? This increases your crit rate with each charged ball through the blue concentration skills. In addition, your crit damage is increased by 15% at level 3 of Engraving.

Of course, you rely on crit for the stats.

Which engravings do I use? If you chose Hammer of Rage, Supercharge is worth it, as some of your attacks need to charge to do more damage.

Later Master Smasher is also an advantage, since you have to carry out numerous attacks from the front in order to do more damage.

Which trading cards are important? To further increase your crit rate, you should start with the Howling Rocks card set. It consists of Armel, Seria, Solas, King Thirain, Kharmine and Delain Armel.

The Light of Redemption set is optimal, but it consists of rare cards. So it will be expensive later, but worth it. The set consists of Shandi, Azena and Innana, Nineveh, Wei, Balthorr and Thirain. For a 6-piece 30-piece Awakening, the cards give you 8% more Holy damage and convert all your damage to Holy damage.

What skills do I use?

You choose Big Bang as your awakening. This is your ultimate, so to speak.

What is the rotation like? In combat, you focus on filling three cores as quickly as possible. The rotation that max roll suggests, seems a bit complicated at first, but it isn’t. You use the blue skills to recharge again and again and then perform various purple ones. A suitable order would be this:

Class Engraving B: Gravity Training

What does the engraving do? As a second option, Lost Ark offers you the Gravity Training class engraving. This increases the crit rate for Gravity Release abilities by 10% and fills the blue bar much faster. This will get you into god mode faster and have more defense.

With the stats you focus on specialization to fill your bar even faster.

Which engravings do I use? In Gravity Training, it’s worth starting with Barricade to further increase your defense.

Later, the battle engraving Meisterschläger is also worthwhile here, in order to cause more damage with frontal attacks.

Which trading cards are important? The trading cards are no different from the other class engraving. To further increase your crit rate, you should start with the Howling Rocks card set. It consists of Armel, Seria, Solas, King Thirain, Kharmine and Delain Armel.
