In 2021, the cloud gaming service Shadow from the French company Blade had to file for bankruptcy. A new owner was found in Jezby Ventures. Now Shadow is back with a “strategic reorientation” and a new offer. With an upgrade, customers should now get the performance of a Geforce RTX 3070.

The cloud gaming service Shadow is back with a “strategic reorientation”. The French company behind Shadow, Blade, filed for bankruptcy in March 2021. The American arm of the company also filed for bankruptcy. A short time later, however, a new owner was found in Jezby Ventures. Now the business should start again – with an additional subscription for the cloud gaming service.

Shadow wants to offer RTX 3070 performance

The starting price for Shadow should be 29.99 euros per month. With this basic model, users get the performance of a Geforce GTX 1080 or equivalent, 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of hard disk space for their virtual PC. There will soon be a power upgrade that costs an additional 14.99 euros – in total almost 45 euros.

This additional subscription offers users four cores and eight threads of the Epyc 7543P and a Geforce RTX 3070 or a comparable graphics card from AMD. Which product is available virtually should depend on the respective data center. The main memory is 16 gigabytes. The hard drive storage remains at 256 gigabytes, but can be increased up to 2 terabytes.

The offer will be available for pre-order in the summer and will be available worldwide in the fall. Interested parties can register now. Before the launch there will be an early access phase to which selected users will be invited. Further details on the new subscription and the availability of the GPUs in the individual countries will follow.
