Fly zombie, fly! Dying Light 2 event has us zombie blasting and totally picks me up

Techland’s second foray into the zombie apocalypse is now over three months old. Dying Light 2: Stay Human has already received new content, but packs with outfits hardly cause a reason to return to Villedor for several hours. With the current event it looks different again. Hyper Mode is definitely worth a look if you’re looking to get back into the game for a few hours beating up zombies in a really high-impact way.

This is not a bug, this is a feature

Aiden is already capable of quite a lot, especially when we fully equipped him with new abilities and proper equipment. But it only becomes really overpowering in Hyper Mode. In doing so, our Nightrunner gains superhuman powers in the form of a sudden burst of power when he smashes into the undead. Because then they don’t just die, but fly through the air with just one hit in a high arc. Roughly the way bugs can happen in some games during an attack. But see for yourself:

Until when does the Hype Move event run? Until May 23, we can happily catapult zombies into the air. After that, the event ends and with it the series of booster events.

By the way, if you’re wondering why Dying Light 2 changed so much from the first trailers to the end result, you can find the answer in this video:

I don’t know about you, but watching the Hyper Mode video made me want to play Dying Light 2 all over again. The gameplay is generally a lot of fun for me, but I just don’t have the motivation to continue fighting through the world after the story.

I’m all the more looking forward to the upcoming and already promised story DLCs, but for now I’ll use the Hyper Mode event to thrash the undead miles away. Because I’m so up for a few crazy hours of “zombie baseball”. This is not only a welcome change, but also helps to bridge the waiting time for big new content.

If you want to stay up to date with new Dying Light 2 content, we recommend our roadmap overview article. You will still find some DLCs there, after all developer Techland has promised support for at least five years.

What about with you? Are you still playing Dying Light 2 or are you waiting for bigger DLCs? Are you interested in Hyper Mode?
