Minecraft: Player recreates Van Gogh’s Starry Night

Minecraft: "Aquaman" Jason Momoa to star in film (1)

Vincent Van Gogh is probably one of the most important artists in history, although unfortunately he was not particularly appreciated during his lifetime. Meanwhile, however, his various paintings are admired by millions of people. One of the artist’s most famous paintings is Starry Night. This is often considered by many people to be the artist’s “magnum opus” and just one look at the beautiful constellation makes it clear why. The oil painting has resided in the Museum of Modern Arts in New York City since 1941.

Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh in Minecraft

Of course, if traveling to the United States is a little too much for you, then there are other ways you can view the image in all its glory. For example, you can recreate Starry Night in Minecraft, as one extremely talented player has now proven.

YouTuber and Minecraft fan ChrisDaCow shared his latest Minecraft project on his YouTube channel and also on Reddit, where he has meanwhile received almost 40,000 upvotes and numerous Reddit awards. As Chris explains, he really wanted to create a 3D version of the painting, which he totally succeeded in doing.

Chris definitely showed his eye for detail with his creation, because the YouTuber has perfectly integrated every single mountain, every single tree, and all other small details into his creation. Reportedly, it took ChrisDaCow over a month to complete his build, and one of his friends even had to rewrite a pixel art generator’s code to help him with the project.
