WoW Patch 9.2.5: New Enigma Arena without moving columns
Contrary to the initial announcement, the new Enigma Arena coming with WoW Patch 9.2.5 will no longer have moving pillars. The developers announced this in an official blue post.
When the WoW developers at Blizzard announced a new arena for WoW Patch 9.2.5, PvP fans were delighted. In particular, the possibility of moving the columns within the so-called Enigma Arena by pressing a switch in the center of the arena caused a sensation. But the team has now removed exactly this feature.
Problems with gameplay mechanics spell the end of the mechanics
In an official blue post, the developers justified their decision against the moving columns as follows:
“As we originally mentioned, we wanted to release the Enigma Arena with a unique mechanic, a central switch that allowed players to manipulate the positioning of the pillars during a match. When implementing [dieser Mechanik] However, we did find some issues with pathing and line of sight that could occasionally affect players and some of their class abilities.
However, in order to provide the best possible gameplay experience and avoid potential frustrations, we have decided to proceed with the version currently available on the patch 9.2.5 PTR, which features a single column configuration that during a match uses the whole remains the same over time. We are currently planning the original release [mit den beweglichen Säulen] not to be pursued.”
This means that the gameplay could not be implemented satisfactorily with the moving columns, so the developers decided against this feature. We think this decision is understandable, but we still want to hear your opinion on it: What do you think about it? Are you disappointed that you now have to do without this unique mechanic in the arena? Or do you think the current PTR version is better anyway? Tell us what you think about it in the comments!
