Asus has one announced new gaming monitor, which is supposed to boast a particularly high refresh rate. As the name suggests, the Asus ROG Swift 500 Hz achieves a refresh rate of – you guessed it – 500 Hertz. This is a new record, because no manufacturer currently offers faster displays.
With its many frames per second, the monitor is primarily aimed at competitive gamers who depend on the fastest possible reaction time and therefore benefit from an earlier display of the events on the screen.
In addition to its high refresh rate, the ROG Swift 500 Hz has a screen diagonal of 24.1 inches with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 p) on the data sheet. The display is an E-TN display (E-Sports-TN). In addition to the resolution, the color accuracy will probably also have to be lower in order to enable such a high image clock.
The second trump card next to the Hertz number is the support of Nvidia G-Sync. So far, there have been screens with a maximum of 360 Hz that support G-Sync. Ghosting, i.e. a blurring of moving elements on the display, should finally be eliminated as a problem.
Seth Schneider, Esports Product Manager at Asus says: “ROG Swift 500Hz with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology gives gamers the lowest latency of any monitor on the market. And with the onboard NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer, gamers can measure their latency with one click, ensuring the fastest response times for the most intense games. “
Asus has not yet given any information on the launch date and RRP of the ROG Swift 500 Hz.
