The co-op mode in Elden Ring leaves a lot to be desired for many players. That’s why modder “LukeYui” has come up with its own extensive co-op solution. It should now be published this week.

What is this solution? The “Elden Ring Seamless Coop” project is a mod by “LukeYui” that has been under discussion for a long time.

This mod will be released on Friday May 27th via “Nexus Mods‘ made available in an open beta version. So it’s only available to Elden Ring players on PC – console players can’t use the new co-op solution.

Nevertheless, it is interesting to see which features “LukeYui” wants to improve the co-op mode in Elden Ring.

New mod wants to improve co-op experience in Elden Ring

These are the problems: Co-op is available in limited form in Elden Ring. Other players are summoned here, they cannot simply enter and are sent back to their own world after death. Among other things, the game cannot be played together everywhere, you can only work with up to 2 co-op partners and various features are not available together – such as riding.

All in all, the mod wants to start here and in many other places – and just enable “seamless” co-op in Elden Ring without restrictions.

This brings the mod now: You can find a little insight in the following video, which shows the current status and with which the release date for May 27th was announced:

Among other things, you can see how players sit together around the campfire, ride together through the intermediate lands or fight a dragon. The rewards for the battle will be shared.

It is also possible to switch on PvP and thus to a certain extent friendly fire – if you would rather play against each other than with each other. Meanwhile, invasions are not planned (via reddit).

Also noticeable: when a player dies, the connection is not terminated, as is normally the case. Instead, an observer camera is used, which lets you see how your friends are doing after you die.

Other features of the map should be, for example, the following:

  • Fast travel together using voting
  • Shared map markers
  • Entering areas that aren’t actually intended for co-op
  • Enemy scaling based on group size
  • Shared progress. Bosses that you kill together in another player’s world are then also dead for you. However, you do not take over the other player’s complete progress if you joined late.

In addition, the map should run on its own launcher and not on FromSoftware’s usual matchmaking servers. This is to prevent bans.

What is that good for? Basically, a seamless co-op mode should simplify the game a bit more than the normal co-op mode already does.

However, if you have already experienced the “hard” version of Elden Ring, this could also be an incentive: experiencing the big world of the game together again and defeating enemies creatively could be a lot of fun.

And looking for secrets in places that you were previously only allowed to enter alone should ensure a few entertaining hours together.

By the way, if you want to play alone but still want the game to be a little easier: There is now also an easy mode mod.

What do you think of the co-op mod? Is this something you wished for? Or don’t you like it? Tell us in the comments!
