Windows 10 21H2: Update fixes two annoying problems
Microsoft has released a new optional update for Windows 10, version 21H2 of which fixes two problems that users have had to deal with in recent months. Specifically, it is about a bug that crashes apps and an error with the backup of the operating system.
Although Windows 11 has been around for a while, there are still plenty of users who continue to use Windows 10 as their operating system. Microsoft also knows this, which is why the Windows developers also continuously provide the predecessor of the current OS with updates. Now users can download an optional update, which should give some users great reason to be happy.
Update with bug fixes available via Windows Insider Program
Because the update with the version number KB5014023 fixes two annoying bugs that have been circulating in Windows 10 for several months and are part of the current version 21H2. Specifically, this is a recovery error on the one hand and a bug on the other that can cause various apps to crash.
The optional update contains a total of 30 bug fixes. One of these bugs caused apps that access the d3d9.dll file to crash. The bug with the recovery feature affected the Windows 7 Backup and Restore feature, preventing users from correctly booting their system from a recovery media. Both problems should no longer occur after installing the patch. Excel and Outlook should now work again without any problems.
