After space pirates had their fun in No Man’s Sky, it’s now the turn of the puzzle lovers. The new Leviathan content is now the seventh update and will again offer time-limited, exclusive content for all players.

How long is the Leviathan season? The start of Leviathan updates is today. From now on you have six weeks to unravel the mystery surrounding the Leviathan.

What is the update about? The No Man’s Sky community must band together and work with researcher Polo to solve a great mystery. Players are caught in a mysterious time loop connected to the great space creature Leviathan.

The development team states that the update should be similar to a roguelike, meaning you will die a lot. With each death, the individual progress is partially reset, but each run through contributes to solving the puzzle and thus breaking out of the eternal time loop.

Through deaths, the community also helps improve the quality of procedurally generated gear. The exclusive rewards of the update include:

  • Whaling Cloak
  • Mini bio-frigate for the base
  • Temporal Starship Path
  • Bio-Frigate for the Frigate Fleet

The development team continues to work diligently

Even six years after the release, No Man’s Sky is still being supplied with all kinds of extensive updates. This shows how dedicated the development team is to the matter – and how Games as a Service works properly. So it won’t be long before we can look forward to a new update to No Man’s Sky.

The Leviathan update also fixes numerous bugs. These include a PS4 GPU crash, which should now be a thing of the past, as well as optimizing storage space on Xbox Series S.

What do you think of the new Leviathan update? Are you drawn back to No Man’s Sky?
