Now that the release date for Modern Warfare 2 has been announced, a big leak with information about editions, pre-order bonuses and beta followed.

Santa Monica, California – Modern Warfare 2, as the new Call of Duty 2022 is called, is the next major title in the popular CoD series and is eagerly awaited by many. The fans are literally craving fresh details about the upcoming shooter. And now there is some exciting information about it. The official release date was announced on the evening of May 24th. Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022. This was immediately followed by a leak that reveals the first details about the editions, bonuses and the beta.

Modern Warfare 2: According to Leak – These editions exist

What is the leak all about? In the source data of CoD: Vanguard dataminer on 24.05. discovered some interesting new entries. These gave insight into fresh details about the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which will be released in autumn of the current year. So Vanguard should probably be advertising for the new CoD in the foreseeable future.

As usual with leaks, the same applies here: Until this information has been officially confirmed, treat the whole thing with the necessary amount of caution – even if the data apparently comes directly from a CoD title.

These editions are known so far: As per the said data, Modern Warfare 2 will be available in at least 3 editions. The following are known so far:

  • the default edition
  • the cross-gen edition
  • the vault edition

It is quite conceivable that there will be other editions of Modern Warfare 2 for release.

The editions include: In addition to the base game Modern Warfare 2, the various editions contain certain pre-order bonuses or the cross-gen bundle, with the Vault Edition currently embodying the most comprehensive version in this regard. Incidentally, the prices are not yet known.

These pre-order bonuses come with the largest edition: The Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2 offers the most content to date. According to the data, the following pre-order bonuses are associated with this:

  • Battle Pass including 50 tier skips
  • Red Team 141 Operator Pack featuring iconic characters Ghost, Soap, Price and Farah
  • FJX Cinder Weapon Vault
  • 10 hours of Double XP and Double Weapon XP
  • Ghost Legacy Pack with 12 operator skins and 10 weapon blueprints
  • Early access to the open beta

These pre-order bonuses come with the Standard Edition:

  • Access to the beta
  • “other items to be announced”

With the Cross-Gen Edition you will probably be able to upgrade the last-gen version of the game (on PS4 and Xbox One) to the latest generation of consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X).

Modern Warfare 2: According to Leak – These are the first details about the open beta

This is what the leak for the open beta reveals: As the leak and the content of the editions reveal, there will be a beta for Modern Warfare. Nothing is known about the content, and a specific date for the beta is not yet known. But it looks like there will be several “windows of time” again in which you can try out the game.

For example, with the Vault Edition there is talk of early access to the open beta and with the cross-gen version it apparently means that you will get earlier access to the beta on the PS4 and PS5. The term “open beta” also suggests that anyone interested in the new Modern Warfare will be able to preview it at some point.
