The Netflix streaming service continues to focus on exclusive series. In addition, with Horizon Zero Dawn, a strong game brand has been secured for an adaptation. Gran Turismo is also to be implemented.

The international streaming market remains hotly contested and Netflix’s previous supremacy is beginning to crumble. The provider with the big red N recently had to announce a decline in active subscriptions for the first time. Meanwhile, competition from Amazon Prime, Disney+ and others is catching up. So new exclusive content is needed and two very strong brands from the gaming sector have now been secured: Horizon Zero Dawn and Gran Turismo.

At least that’s what the usually well-informed US industry magazine reports Variety. As a result, those responsible at Sony Pictures have negotiated a deal with Netflix for a series implementation of Horizon Zero Dawn. However, the project is still in a very early stage of development and therefore there are currently no personal details to announce.

At the same time, a series of Gran Turismo was announced. However, less is known about this, because there is not yet a concrete streaming or even TV home for the adaptation of the long-lived racing game series. There is still no start date for either of them, but one way or another it should be a few years away.

In addition to those already mentioned, there are a number of other conversions to hit games in the works: Among other things, a God of War series is to be created on Amazon, The Last of Us is currently being shot for HBO Max, and a Twisted Metal series is to come to Peacock. In addition, fans can look forward to film adaptations of Ghost of Tsushima and Bioshock, among others.

Incidentally, the long-awaited sequel to “Horizon Zero Dawn” was only released a few months ago: In our opinion, “Horizon Forbidden West” is Guerrilla’s masterpiece.
