God of War Ragnarök is getting age ratings in Korea and it’s about time for the reveal

God of War 2: Ragnarök könnte bei der nächsten State of Play im Mittelpunkt stehen.

The Korean Game Rating Board is a bit notorious for leaking the odd game release before the official announcement. God of War 2: Ragnarök has now also received an age rating for Korea and of course that raises hopes.

God of War 2 gives hope for an early date reveal

There is still no specific release date for God of War 2, we only know that it should come in 2022. However, the Korean age rating authority has now given the game an 18+ rating, which should at least mean that all of the game’s content is final and the development team is still fine-tuning the details.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the release of God of War: Ragnarök is just around the corner, but at least it gives hope that the date will be revealed soon. For comparison: Horizon Forbidden West was rated in November 2021 and was released three months later – so with a bit (or a lot?) of luck we can plan for a release of God of War 2 around September 2022.

Merchandising could tease information about the release: Another indication of a September release could also have been new fan articles for God of War, which apparently are available from retailers Geeky Zone have appeared. They are also given a release date of September 30, 2022 – the same date that dataminers want to have discovered in the PlayStation database as the date for God of War 2. Of course, this could also be a placeholder date. (via VGC)

Don’t get too excited though – according to Sony, the showcase will focus on third party games and PSVR 2. Accordingly, we probably don’t need to expect any news about God of War 2: Ragnarök. So it’s quite possible that we’ll have to wait until September for a big showcase.
