The fronts between Twitch and former or banned streamers are so tight that active Twitch streamers are forbidden and can face severe penalties if you even say the name of the banned person. The latest rule for a Fortnite tournament with streamers goes one step further.

Almost two years ago, today’s YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch. The lengthy one Legal dispute over the ban ended only recently. Both parties agreed to drop the case. After that, some even rumored if the outgoing streamer would return to Twitch. As it turns out, Dr Disrespect is still persona non grata on Twitch. He’s being treated like Voldemort, as evidenced by Twitch’s rules for his own Fortnite tournament.

Streamers are not allowed to speak his name at the Dr Disrespect tournament

On May 27, 2022, the Fortnite tournament Hot Shot Duo Drop, which has long been awaited by Fortnite fans, will take place and will feature numerous well-known streamers. The prize money is $100,000. On the Boom TV Event Page the rules note that it is “prohibited to knowingly feature or promote a banned user on their channel” and provide some tips for streamers attending the event.

For one, they suggest that streamers avoid calling Dr Disrespect by name and instead the “two-time” or “Blockbuster video game champion” to use. Also should Hide Doc’s images or videos and mute the in-game YouTuber.

Participants make fun of the rule

The fact that Dr Disrespect is not even allowed to be mentioned during his own event naturally finds the participants extremely strange. Viewers vented their displeasure in a tweet from FullSquad Gaming co-owner Jake Lucky documenting the policy.

“This is the pettiest shit I’ve ever seen,” wrote OpTic ZLaner, a frequent teammate of the banned streamer.

Twitch has severe penalties for streamers who distribute content from other streaming platforms like YouTube or even just mention the names of banned streamers. Dr Disrespect is one of those Voldemorts.
