Buy PS5 at Kaufland: Drop prospects in May – What about new consoles?

The retail chain Kaufland now also has the PS5 on offer. But can we still expect new consoles in May?

Update from 05/28/2022, 2:30 p.m.: Unfortunately, nothing has changed at Kaufland since the last PS5 drop. It is difficult to estimate when something will happen again. Kaufland.de has simply not been around long enough as a relevant PS5 provider for possible drop patterns or behavior to crystallize.

But what you can say with certainty: The weekend should traditionally remain rather quiet with regard to fresh PS5 supplies. But the prospects for supplies are generally not bad at the moment. For the second month in a row, Sony has been wearing its generous pants when it comes to fresh consoles. And in May, in addition to Kaufland, several medium-sized and smaller retailers such as Euronics, MyToys or MediMax are still missing. There and also at Kaufland, things could get exciting in the near future.

Update from May 7th, 2022, 11:33 am: At Kaufland, things are currently quiet about PS5 supplies – at least if they are to come from Kaufland.de itself and not from overpriced third-party providers. That should remain the case today. When Kaufland could drop the next time cannot really be estimated, at least at the moment – the retailer has not been there long enough as a relevant factor to be able to recognize a trend and make a well-founded forecast.

Original message from May 4th, 2022: Hamburg – Kaufland has been mixing up the PS5 business for a few weeks. Sony’s console is regularly sold on their online marketplace. However, the prices are really tough. Kaufland itself also offers the PS5 there and (mostly) at much fairer prices. We’ll show you the current situation at Kaufland and tell you what’s going on with supplies.

Buy PS5: Kaufland as a new dealer – what are the chances of replenishment?

When was the last replenishment here? The PS5 was last sold here on April 25th. It was the third real drop at Kaufland. However, only a few consoles were sold there. In between there was a smaller sale directly from Kaufland, where the console was offered significantly too expensive – for more than 1,000 €. You can find the link to the shop here:

What about new consoles at Kaufland? It’s quite difficult to say because Kaufland has only been in the PS5 business for a few weeks. However, it seems quite realistic that the dealer will come to at least some consoles in May. However, expect that the quantities will not be very large. Fixed days of the week or times for a drop cannot be read yet.

Also, it could well be that another drop will bring overpriced consoles as well. So be sure to pay attention to the price and only strike if it is fair. That was already the case with Kaufland, but the retailer has also proven the opposite.

Buy PS5: Important information for drops at Kaufland

You need to know: The PS5 has been available from Kaufland for many months – but it is not always sold by the retailer itself. Kaufland offers a huge online marketplace where other providers also sell their products. This includes the PS5. The offers from third-party providers for the PS5 at Kaufland are very expensive. Consoles sometimes cost over 900 euros here – so you shouldn’t strike there.
